Update's Coming Today

Hey everyone!

I have fixed like a million bugs this week. Not every bug, but very, very many.

What's Fixed

Every quest or cutscene bug that has been reported, has been fixed. I think literally every single one-- though it's always possible I missed something. Some sequence-breaks have been patched but others have been accomodated for as they were interesting. Fixes here include puzzles that people were having a very hard time figuring out, or seemed to trigger improperly. I've adjusted the price of one item since I realized a way I could do it.

The combat, especially early game, has been tightened up. Not exactly "nerfed" but it should be much less frustrating for players early on to figure out what's going on. This applies to the green lizards, red and green slimes, and the short bandit "zappers." So if you're playing and those enemies seem different, especially the slimes, it's not your imagination! The blue slimes can't jack you quite the way they could before, some Let's Play videos cured me of this notion.

An important late game battle has been changed rather drastically. It's actually more difficult but at the same time much better.

The bug where a certain weapon would waste your ammo is fixed.

Many control glitches are fixed, especially with late game weapons.

A fix relating to a late game weapon and less-powerful graphics hardware (if shadows are turned off, the visual effect is simpler)

Many UI glitches are fixed, especailly ones where you exit to the title screen and then come back into the game.

... and much, much more! With this update, the game is not "invincibly solid" but should no longer feel "buggy". I hope!

What's NOT fixed:

Item duplication isn't fixed, yet. It seems super common, but believe it or not I can't reproduce this! I'm still going to test this hardcore today but as it's not game-breaking in any way, it's just lower-priority. Thanks everybody for the info on what seems to cause it.

There might still be a few places where "stuck in wall" can happen, but we'll see. I thought I had fixed it "mathematically" last time, which seems to be true but somehow it can still happen to people in some situations. I have patched the map over to hopefully avoid this, there were just a few places it had cropped up.

Sadly, there are two users reporting crash bugs that I haven't been able to fix, yet. But I am totally determined to fix these, one I am able to reproduce but still need to try a few things.

Haha thanks man! I literally ate that whole cake in a day, so I'm sorta done for cake for awhile =)

Sorry guys, not going to get this ready for tonight. I am just doing a test-run through it, most of the way done but not complete.

I don't imagine anybody is refreshing the forum to see this but I just didn't want anybody to wonder =)

Aha, it's coming! I promise. I'm just working my way through it start to finish again. I think I realized *just now* what is causing the item dupe, so I'm going to see if I can fix that. It is possible in at least one situation (i hadn't thought of) for the item dupe to break the game, so I really want to get it fixed if I at all can, for this update.
