What's the trick to killing slimes? Aside from the blue ones. I know it has to be a timing thing but I've tried hitting them at every stage I can think of and I still don't understand how I pull it off when I do manage to kill one.

Nothing urgent, but I hate not knowing something

I hated this too. I thought I needed to hit their corner or something, but it turns out slimes are mostly bulletproof You actually will get a weapon that kills them every time a little further along in the story. Until then, just go around them as best you can. It's not worth the hassle.
