The damn mine is like a feverish dream. :D There is too much going on and it's not THAT fun to navigate trough it. Slimes, bats, stone statues and they all trying to kill you. And there is this posionous stuff in some areas and there is also Gladys. I died A LOT. Not fun. :(

Maybe i'm just getting old? I played a lot of games on the C64 and in most of them you had limited lives/continues and saving was a rare feature. Today i can't stand games where i can't save (wherever/whenever i wish) or there is too much going on.

What keeps me trying is the uniqueness of The Real Texas. It's really not like the other indies or even AAA games.

Regarding bats being a nuisance: what helped me a lot was reading the clothing books in Xartan's rooftop room.

The Garbadge Mine is probably the hardest part of the whole game, but once you figure out the statues and how to navigate the slimed ground it isn't too bad. But there is a lot of stuff that at least initially you can't tell if you are missing something or if it is just really hard, and typically its just that you're missing something.

I think this is fair criticism. Looking back on it, I probably tried to put too much stuff into the garbadge mine, vs the other areas which are more focused on one or two ideas. In fact reading this now I think I could probably have split it into three completely separate areas: one focused on the tikis, one on the gate key search-a-thon, and one on slimes/gladys.

Just to reiterate, I read all the feedback here and think about it quite a bit, even if I don't always respond! I don't respond sometimes just because I'm thinking about it... =)

So thank you everybody! Keep the feedback coming. It's definitely appreciated.

I'm done with the mine. It was much better after i found out about the "other" weapon, but it was still frantic action.

It's also a bit hectic in that Gladys can spawn in more than one place at the same time. At one point I had three of her camping various corridors simultaneously, lol.
