Hi Everybody!

Just wanted to drop a bit of news. Basically what I'm doing these days is a mix of:

1- I have FOUR separate projects, other than TRT, on the go. So in terms of day-to-day, I do spend a lot of time on these. This is important for my sanity!

2- I have a 1.3 version sitting here, *almost* ready to go. I have to find a Mac so I can produce Mac builds more easily-- up until now I have been using a friend's Mac. So buying a Mac will probably happen before 1.3 is out. If I specify an ETA for this version I will only jinx myself, so I won't. 1.3 includes numerious bugfixes and a few "extras". Basically if you are playing the game for the first time, 1.3 should be a better experience. If you have already played it, 1.3 will have (more or less) one extra "scavenger" quest but one that has cool rewards. Just a *tiny* extra something, I guess.

3- I will almost definitely get it up on Desura and GamersGate, soon after 1.3 is out.

4- There is a Greenlight page now, for Texas. If you would like to see it on Steam, please do go ahead and vote for it here:

http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/f ... d=92933186

If you are wanting to buy the game, check the Greenlight page as it HAS A COUPON CODE! =) The launch sale ended some weeks ago so it's nice to have another excuse for a discount...

5- Soundtrack is coming! Likewise, I have been saying "next week" forever with this, so please bear with me. I won't specify when I think I'll put it up since that will only jinx it. If it helps, I'm trying to sort of coincide 1.3 with the soundtrack so that I can do another press release for the game.

Thanks everybody who bought the game and has sent me so many nice words of encouragement, and thank you to everybody who voted for it already on the Greenlight page! To be perfectly frank, Steam is the best way for indies to make money selling PC games, and although Texas has done well I really am hoping for a Steam release to help support me to get another game (or two!) finished. Really all I want to do is more or less keep doing what I'm doing fulltime and make these kinds of niche games :) So thanks for your support!

Good work. I won't use steam myself but I realise that that the vast majority of gamers do. I have emailed all my friends, Physics students, anyone who will listen about the real texas but I am fairly sure no-one bought it. Steam is the only way to go. Bring on the next kittylambda game.

:) Thank you! I'm hard at work to turn the money I made from TRT into something fabulous, and sooner than 5 years from now (TRT took about 5 years)

Thanku! =) I saw your post on the KL front page, sorry the comments are screened because I get like 50 spam comments per day (literally... it's nuts.)

Also I finally got a proper Mac today and have been busily setting it all up! Hooray, I'm now properly tooled-out to get this update out. =) Still balancing it with work on other projects though... but it's a major step to finally get this sorted out.

Having to ride my bike 30 minutes to borrow someone else's Mac was just barely working but the main problem is I have a few tricky things to sort out with compatibility and I want to have one at home to do that. So that's a bit of a story here :)

mugsy your post was incentive for me to get my butt in gear!

Didn't want to reply until I had some good news since sometimes when I reply "oh yes, it should be out XXX days" I then lose incentive somehow.

Anyways right now I am about 1/3rd of the way through testing 1.3. I made significant changes to the game, MANY tiny fixes (including some as recently as last week, even) so I really want to get it nailed down solidly in testing. This will be the most thoroughly tested version.

If I give an ETA I will just jinx myself, but I wanted to reply to your post :)

KTallguy thank you for voting on the greenlight! It means a lot :) Once I get 1.3 finished I will try and work through back channels (i.e., just email them directly with reviews etc.) to try and get it on Steam. I think the Greenlight will help them evaluate it, even if I don't make the top 10 (it would be really really hard for it to make the top 10, unfortunately)

That's good news, I'm looking forward to 1.3 and the temporary invincibility toggle to get past Hammon. I really hope The RealTexas ends up on steam. I think if it does your income from this game will multiply by 20x or so. That means more of your cool games more often :)
