So I'm looking at some future additions. Right now, apart from fixing what might be a significant bug or two, I'm thinking about alternate gameplay modes. Right now, the name of the game is to recover a relic, but it might not be too hard, actually, to implement other gameplay modes! These would probably be world-specific, but some ideas I have are:

1. No story or objective at all - just compete for points, mess around. There would be no bosses.

2. Chase - some kind of simple story involving you being chased around the galaxy. Perhaps your quest would be a simple run from point A to point B in any number of steps, all the while being chased by pirates or something.

3. Other, simple objective - for instance, complete all quests, hunt down all demons.

4. ??? - suggestions?

These are by no means going to for sure be put in, and certainly there won't be anything more elaborate than the current story (which itself isn't very elaborate, I realize!) but if anybody wants to make some suggestions, go ahed!

Class specific quest chains maybe?

The current grail quest makes great sense for Hero class characters, but maybe not so much for the others.

Maybe some kind of political quest for the Illuminati, to try and take over the Senate or something.

The Pirate could maybe hunt down pieces of some kind of treasure map, guarded by ghost ships.

Not sure about the Merchant, I'll have to think a bit more.

"No story open games" are a good option in conjunction with standard planet packs.

In other words, if one downloads "Eden" one ought to be able to choose between story mode and open.

World pack installer is coming in a future release. Probably not the next release, but the one after. It'll be a feature of the Setup tool, to install or uninstall world packs (nice thing: this doesn't affect related save games)

But it's sort of a major feature and will require some testing, and I want to get a bugfix release out soon, so that won't be in.

I also need some way to track on the website what world files you've played, what ones you beaten, and as what classes.

JArcane's quest ideas are great- as for the Merchant/Janitor (my favorite) I've given it some thought.

An overall quest competing against other AI merchants (and when online against other players) to be the most profitable Trade ship. The competition can take place over "x" amount of time. Trade routes can be placed near dangerous areas to make things more interesting. Also player can develop a merchant fleet.

Of course, the game can be filled with many sub-quest missions as well.

A quick status update. I have (I hope) fixed the worst of the boss bugs, at least the bosses are to where I *thought* they were when I released the game. Not entirely diabolically clever but, not dysfunctional and obviously broken either. Really sorry about that, garrrr!!!!!!!!

I've also added a facility to install world-files separately, through the installation tool. This is a slightly more major thing than it might seem, but it looks like (if this all works) I can release an updated version tommorow or at the latest on Monday!

Thanks for bearing with me...
