When I start the game, I get the title screen and can go through all the options, but when I hit the arrow to play the game, I crash with an:

Quote:
venturethevoid: symbol lookup error: venturethevoid: undefined symbol: glGenBuffers

I'm running linux, version 8.39.4 of the proprietary ATI driver. I assume my problem is with my version of OpenGL, as when I switched implementations (to xorg-x11, which I believe is version 2.1) with eselect, the game didn't crash. The only problem with that is I lose direct rendering (game is unrunnably slow) if I'm not using ATI's OpenGL.

Some glxinfo output:
Quote:
OpenGL vendor string: ATI Technologies Inc.
OpenGL renderer string: ATI MOBILITY RADEON 9600/9700 Series
OpenGL version string: 2.0.6650 (8.39.4)

Is there anything I can do about this, or am I SOL?
More information available at request.

Edit: Um, I meant to post this under "Game help," hopefully this isn't the wrong place for it.

This is a compatability issue, I will have a look at it this afternoon and see if I can release an updated Linux version. It shouldn't require glGenBuffers, so I'll have to figure out how to get it too skip that if it's unsupported! Thanks for the reports...

Hi there! Okay, I need to see what gl extensions are available before I can fix this. Can you run:

venturethevoid >trace.txt

And then email trace.txt to psysal@venturethevoid.com?

This will tell me what extensions are installed, so I can tell what might be causing this.

Thanks,
Calvin
